5 years

It came, our 5 year anniversary. I seriously can not believe how fast 5 years has gone by. I also can not believe how different life is than what I expected it to be 5 years from when we got married. I definitely did not think we would still be in school, nor did I imagine we would have our 3rd child on the way. A PHD was never in the plans when we got married and I wanted to work and save up money for a few years before we even started thinking about kids. Funny how life has a way of changing your plans.... and just for the record.... I wouldn't have it any other way. ( well maybe the done with school part ;))

Here we are 5 years from the day we said I do.

We had big plans to do a big Lake Powell part with a bunch of friends for our anniversary but things just never worked out. Instead we spent 3 days at this beautiful place...
The Tahitian resort in Las Vegas. IT. WAS. AMAZING. Go there, you will be ever so glad you did. I am not a Vegas fan, I hate smoke, and naked women and I don't gamble... so there isn't much for me in Vegas. But this place was like a little mini paradise. It was at the very end of the strip, there is no Casino in the hotel and it is geared towards families. I loved it. I never wanted to leave, if I didn't have 2 children that were waiting back at home I might not have.
We spent 2 solid days laying out by the water reading
and kissing behind waterfalls. :D

and looking up at skys like this
more reading

We spent lots of time floating around this lazy river
This handsome man grilled me some taquitos. This place was so great. They actually had a large bbq area and they provided the grills and grill utensils.

Hottie

It was so beautiful outside, we loved just sitting on the patio. I had forgotten how nice it is to just sit and enjoy a meal without worrying about who's throwing what on the floor or what is going down who's shirt.
While we were there I hit my 33 week mark. So we snapped a quick belly pic before we went out for the night.

33 weeks

Then reality came crashing in and we had to leave. It honestly didn't seem fair. I will be going back sometime, probably with kids, but still I will be back.

Happy 5 years Chris! I can honestly say I love you just as much today as I did then... actually more.

The Graduate

He did it!!!
Doesn't this picture make you smile from ear to ear too?

This little guy graduated his first year of pre-school. I have never been so proud/in denial. How can this little baby of mine be that old? I sat through all 30 minutes of his graduation with a mixture of emotions. The graduation program was mostly the kids singing songs they learned through the year, which is Kadens forte. He is such a ham and the video we have of him singing his songs will probably forever be one of my favorites.
He did get in a little bit of trouble when he wouldn't leave the balloon on the back of his chair alone and turn around to sing with the class. That was quickly remedied by his teacher removing the balloon.

Kaden,

You are my little snuggle bug and not matter what grade it is you are graduating I will always be there snapping a million pictures over the shoulder of the person in front of me. :D And I will always insist your dad video every second so I can watch it 3 more times. :D Congrats my little smartie pants... YOU DID IT! **Please oh please stop growing up so fast

Love,

Mom

Kaden and his teacher Miss Krisitn
Lots and lots more updates to come in the next few weeks.... hopefully.

Kelseys Wedding

This happy couple tied the knot the end of April. They were so cute it would be a shame not to share a few shots of the day.
Taycee waited paitently at the door to see her heart throb "Uncle Bent"

The kids had a fun time running around and playing with cousins

I wasn't the reception photographer so I got to just take pictures of my kids with a point and shoot like a normal mom :)
The best I could get of them both
Our fam
The cotton candy... that Taycee couldn't get enough of. The pictures say it all
And just to make sure she got every last sugar granule... she licked it clean!
Congrats Uncle Ben and Aunt Kels

Oh so behind

I am so so behind in the blog world. There are so many things I would like to document that has happened over the last month but it seems that instead of getting caught up I get further and further behind. I still need to post about my sisters bridals, my sister-in-laws wedding, Kadens pre-school graduation and other fun events but I do not have the time nor energy to do it all today so I will just start with these fun pics of the kids first real sleep over with a friend.

We invited Rylee and Cade to spend the night with us so that Rob and Jocelyn could have a night off for their anniversary. The kids were so excited, they played all night and came in filthy dirty so into a bath they went before getting jammies on and ready for bed. They spent a good part of their "bed time" giggling and playing on the top bunk.

The night went better than expected and I would call our first sleep-over a success!

It has been fun having the Egberts just a hop skip and jump down the road. We haven't been able to do too much yet because we have been so busy but we did manage to make it over to see their new place and make some cookies with the kids.

We're looking forward to LOTS of fun time with the Egberts this summer!
