Lions and Tigers and Sunscreen... OH MY!

We went to the zoo on Saturday. It was the first time we have gone to the zoo with Kaden and I think I was more excited about it than he was. All week I kept asking him if he wanted to go and see the monkeys or the lions. I am pretty sure he didn't understand but he said "yeah" every time. Saturday morning I went grocery shopping to get a few things to take with us. I decided to buy baby sunscreen because I thought it would be the strongest protection and the most gentle for the kids skin. Before we left we pretty much bathed the kids in the sunscreen and then set off. When we got to the zoo Kaden was rubbing his eyes and they were red and puffy and tearing. I thought he must have rubbed sunscreen into his eyes so when we got inside the park we flushed them out with water. About 10 minutes later his eyes were still tearing and

swollen but I also noticed his whole face was starting to get red and splotchy. To make a long story short... we think he was allergic to the sunscreen, we basically gave him a bath in the drinking fountain and about 15 minutes later he was all cleared up and happy. Of all the rotten luck! Who would have thought he would be allergic to baby sunscreen?!? Anyway, the first few pictures you can see Kaden looks in a bad way... poor kid. All in all he loved it and today in the car he kept saying "monies" (monkies) I think he thought we were going back.

This is the new double stroller we bought. It's a sit and stand and I really like it!

Mothers Day and some funnies

Mothers Day was Great! Chris waited on me hand and foot. I got breakfast in bed. A nap. Flowers. A strawberry shake. And a massage. It was all great. I am so thankful to be a mother to my two kids. They make every day interesting and full of adventure.

Sunday afternoon we went to my Grandma Sharps for Mothers day dinner. Kaden loves to see Hunter and squeals with glee when he walks in the door. My dad was taking apart Grandmas bench so he could refinish it and Kaden decided to help out. He had one tool in each hand (pretty cute).
Taycee LOVES Grandpa Webre. She smiles and coos and laughs whenever he talks to her.

Drawing a picture with the mickey mouse ears on.

Jocelyn and I had a "mothers day out" on Saturday night. We took the girls to the mall with us. Rylee got her ears pierced and they both did fabulous. They only cried for a few minutes and then they were all smiles. ;) We bought the girls matching dresses for mothers day. It was a fun night. Thanks Joc

Rylee right after she got her ears pierced. Such a cutie.

Ok on to the funnies.... this week has been full of laughs. Here are some of the highlights.

We were listening to a book on tape and apparently Kaden didn't like it because I turned around and this is what I saw. haha

WOULD YOU RATHER...?? Ok this is a hilarious game of thought provoking questions and crazy challenges.
Here Chris is drinking like a cat from a bowl to move to the next level.

Jocleyn chose to do a challenge where she was blindfolded and had to inhale deeply through her nose while things were placed underneath. She had to keep doing it til she identified 2 things correctly. Notice I said she CHOSE to do this. There were other options she could have done that were not nearly as bad. Such as getting on her knees and shaking her bum around. Or being a mannequin and letting us pose her in whatever position we wanted for 2 turns. anyway.... here she is smelling a onsie...that came from the hamper because Kaden pooped all over it. And let me tell you it smelled NASTY. Here are 2 videos of her smelling other things like red pepper, parmesan cheese and vinegar. When she says "cocoa" it is pepper. When she says "that burns going up" it is also pepper, when she about gags, that is Parmesan cheese. hahaha I still laugh watching them. This probably isn't funny to any of you. But I had to preserve the memory.

Here is rob doing a 60 second dance to his own humming ( for the win) I guess the only song he could think of was I am a child of God

And the final funny is Kaden. Kaden does funny things every day. I am constantly holding back a laugh, usually because he is being so naughty. Anyway this week we sold his bedroom things because I am totally redoing his bedroom for his birthday. So for now he is sleeping in this play pen. I kept putting his blankies (he is up to like 6 now) in the play pen and he kept coming back out with all of them. So finally Chris hid to watch how he was doing it and this is what we found...

hahaha, usually he climbs in from the front and doesn't use the box. Funny kid. The bad thing about that is now he gets out whenever he wants. For instance while I was doing this post I heard some clinking from the back room where he is suppose to be taking a nap. I went back and Kaden was in his bed... but all his toys were in there with him. He must have climbed out threw his toys in and got back in. Sneaky bugger.

Other funny things. He now says "cute" and "pretty" all the time. He points to something and says "ah coot".

Well that is all from the Clayton house.

To Our Moms

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms in our life. We feel so blessed to have you!

Mom, We love you. Thanks for everything you do.

To mom (Claudia)-

What do I say to one of the most amazing people that I have met in my whole life? There are few people who take care of everyone around them as much as you do, and there are even fewer who adore every second of it - just like you do. You are an example of compassion that the rest of us in the world strive to emulate. The savior himself said to love the little children. For some people that is a real challenge, and for you....well let's just say sometimes we have a hard time pulling you away from the kids. You would give everything you have for any one of your kids even if that required your life. We all know that - we can all feel that. There is no substitute for the love of a mother.
Mom, what do I say to you? I just have so many things that all want to come out at the same time. You are incredible!!! I cannot put on paper or even into words at all the gratitude I have for you in my life. Thank you for teaching me right and wrong. Thank you for teaching me to love my family. Thank you for showing me how to have a strong marriage. Thank you for always believing in me - even if I didn't believe myself. Thank you for caring. Thank you for your many sacrifices for me and my little family. If I keep writing then I'm gonna fill a very long book. I just can't say all that I feel or want to say. You taught me these two phrases and they seem to be the only ones that will semi-sum up how I feel about you: 1 - Thank you and 2 - I love you.

Chris

Claudia,

you are like a mom and a best friend all in one. You are just an amazing selfless person. You have stayed up with my children almost as many nights as I have. I can't count the number of times I have spent laughing til I cry with you. You are such a great example of selfless love and sacrifice. I couldn't have hand picked a better mother-in-law or grandma for my kids. You have raised a fabulous son. He is an amazing husband and father. I know that he is who he is because of the wonderful parents he had. I hope I can be the type of mother to my children you are to yours. Thank you for loving me like a daughter. I hope your mothers day is fantastic. -Jill

To our Grandmas- We couldn't have asked for better grandmas. There isn't a place on earth that we feel more welcomed or loved than at grandmas house. We love to spend time with you. We love to play with you. You are such wonderful examples of unconditional love. You are fabulous in every way, we are so happy our kids get to have such young, hip, adventurous great grandmas. Thank you for saving a place in your hearts for us. We love you so much! happy grandMOTHERS day. - Chris and Jill

And we have to thank Aunt Kathy who has been like a second mom to Chris for a lot of his life. Thank you for you kindness and generosity. Thank you for always being the first to offer a helping hand. Thank you for the love we always feel when we are with you. Thank you for always knowing what we need when we need it. Thank you for helping to make Chris the man he is. We love you and hope you have a wonderful Mothers day. - Chris and Jill

Wedding Attire

I had to get some pictures of the kids in their wedding outfits. They both looked adorable. Too bad Kaden will NEVER smile for a camera anymore.

Chris thinks Kaden looks like a sissy in these pictures... But I like them

Kilies Wedding Dinner

This week was full of family, friends, late nights, laughs, and LOTS of chocolate. We spent the better part of 2 days dipping cake balls and pretzels in carmel, chocolate, sprinkles, nuts, cookies, toffee, mint chips... there was more I am sure... all for the reception on Saturday.
Friday night was the wedding dinner. These are the pictures from that. (There were A LOT of pictures) I didn't get any pictures of the wedding day. But the photographer got over 700 so I guess we will just have to wait for his.
Kilie looked beautiful and all in all the day went well. We did face a small wind storm that blew over pillars and vases. A few things got forgot like Kelly's tie and playing the wedding video that I spent countless hours on. There were some minor glitches such as the chocolate fountain being turned on and chocolate being blown all over Claudia's black dress. But at the end of the day everyone had a good time and as a whole the day was great.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KYLE AND KILIE HANSEN!

Here is a random assortment from the night

Oh and after this weekend of non-stop junk food. I am officially starting a diet again... 5 days of nothing but chocolate does not do a spare tire good.
