Last weekend my mom planned a girls weekend for all of the girls in our family. This was the first girls weekend we have ever had and I was so excited to get away for a few days and enjoy some adult girl time. We stayed in the Shiloh Inn in Salt Lake just a few blocks down from City Creek.
Friday night we walked to the mall and shopped around for awhile then headed back to Olive Garden for dinner. After dinner we spent the night in the hotel room painting nails applying face masks and eating chocolate. The perfect combination. No one had a camera so cell phone pictures were the best we could do.
I have no shame. Check out those sweet wrinkles.
Saturday morning we went to breakfast and then headed back to the mall for our makeovers at Macy's. We thought the mall opened at 9:00 so we planned our schedule accordingly. We wanted to get to the mall just as it was opening because we had to get back home for Heather's baby shower Jenny and I were in charge of later that afternoon.
We were running a tad bit late and didn't make it to the mall til about 9:20. Saturday morning was cold and it was a brisk walk. We were excited to make it to Nordstroms doors til we discovered they were locked. The mall didn't open til 10. It was just about then that the wind picked up and we were really regretting our decision to walk to the mall. We headed up some stairs and luckily made it into the atrium area of the mall that was open. 30 seconds later the blizzard started. We had missed it by less than a minute. Whew!
We were planning on just haning out on a bench til 10:00 rolled around but then we noticed a few people who didn't look like employees wandering around Macy's. Mom checked the doors and wahla Macy's was open... early. We started to shopping since it was their one day sale. I scored some SWEET deals in the children's department and had to pull myself away before I "saved" us too much money.
Then we headed for our makeovers.
By noon we were beautiful and ready to head back north for Heathers shower. The only problem was that the storm had only gotten worse and the roads were a disaster. After a stop at my house to pick up a few shower items we finally made it to the shower at 3:00 the exact time it was suppose to start. Whoops. So much for decorating or set up. Luckily the only people who braved the storm to come up were cousins and aunts so nobody cared.
I stayed at my moms house that night and Sunday we all made the trip back to my house because Heather Jenny and I were singing in my ward together. Luckily the weather on Sunday was about 10 times better than the weather on Saturday.
It was such a fun weekend together. Mom was so generous to treat us all to a weekend out. I sure do love all those girls!
