A week of firsts

This week has been full of monumental events for Taycee Lynn
  • First time rolling over
  • First time eating baby food
  • First (and last) piercing!!

She had handled it all quite well. The roll might have been accidental but she did it all by herself! The doctor recommended we start Taycee on something with a little fiber in it since she had been so plugged up. So she got her first taste of sweet potatoes last night. She did a fantastic job eating, opened her mouth and everything not nearly as messy as Kadens first feeding. I decided that Taycee needed to get her ears pierced to compensate for the lack of hair she has. That way when she isn't wearing a bow you can still tell she is a girl. She handled it quite well. She did cry for a little bit but once she calmed down and we told her how pretty she looked she got quite happy. I think she is proud of her new look. She keeps talking and laughing and smiling. It is really cute.

4 months

I can't believe my little baby is 4 months. I feel like it was yesterday I brought her home from the hospital. She is such and Angel baby, she hardly ever fusses and she is full of smiles and coo's. She is almost rolling over and it makes me so sad because then she officially isn't a newborn. I started her fully on formula last week ( 16 weeks and 2 days old) and sadly she doesn't like it at all. It has messed up her belly pretty good and she is constipated all the time now. We have tried lots of different types but to no avail. Today the doctor gave her a suppository and that helped almost instantly. He suggested we start her on prunes and sweet potatoes. She has recently taken an interest to Elmo. She watches his movie and talks and talks. She is a cuddle bug and loves to be held and snuggled. Last night Chris and Kaden were wrestling and she found that very funny, every time Chris would throw Kaden to the ground she would giggle. She is very very loved and we are so happy that she choose to join our family.

Clayton Happenings

Time just seems to go by so fast! My kids are changing every day and I feel like I can't get enough of them at this stage before they move to the next. We've spent the last 2 weeks back and forth between Saint George and Brigham. Sorry to all those who have tried to get a hold of us, it can be a daunting task at times.
I have started a new diet! I have been wanting to get this baby weight off for a few months and I decided now is the time. It is the HCG diet, most of you probably know of it or have heard of it. Basically you give yourself an injection of HCG and B12 every morning then you only eat 500 calories all day long. These 500 calories come from meat veggies and fruit no sugar starches or fats. Luckily the HCG has a natural appetite suppressant in it so you are not starving all day long. In fact most the time I am not even hungry. Really the hard thing is that I love my treats, and I would give anything to eat a bag of oreos right now. But it WORKS! I have lost 12 lbs in the last 7 days. 7 days down 19 more to go. And then I have to do a maintenance phase for 3 weeks. The HCG kind of makes me emotional.. for example... today Chris and I were playing our U Dance game. I stepped on my foot wrong and rolled it pretty bad. Chris put his basketball brace on my foot to make it easier to walk on but first he had to put 2 of his huge thick socks on me so the brace would fit. At 9:30 he insisted I go to bed and get a good nights sleep. I didn't want to so I started making wah wah noised at him ( like how the adults talk on Charlie Brown) and I was making the talking gestures with my hands. He decided he would show me who was boss and picked me up and took me to bed. I was laughing pretty hard and still making the wah wah noises at him. He was taking the brace off my foot so I could go to bed and every time I would wah at him he would tug off my sock a little to put pressure on my ankle and say what was that? Anyway this continued on for a few seconds and Chris was getting a little more aggressive on his tugs. He tugged once that really hurt a little and I went instantly from gut laughing to crying. Of course he felt bad and apologized and then I thought about him tugging on my sock to make me stop wah-ing at him and I started gut laughing again. He proclaimed me phsycotic and deranged and walked out of the bedroom. - Just one example of the craziness that is us.
Chris is my super hero though because he fixed my washer for me. The spin cycle stopped working on it and our laundry was starting to pile up. Last Saturday he took the ENTIRE washer apart right down to the motor ( keep in mind he has never even attempted to take apart a washer.) Anyway after about 5 hours of fiddling kicking and a few silent curses ( I am sure) the washer is fixed and working perfectly!
Taycee is growing up so much she is on the verge of rolling over and she giggles all the time now. Her 4 month appointment is on Wednesday so we will see how much she really has grown.
Kaden is starting to be MUCH better with his sister. He comes and gives her kisses now and trys to help her when she is crying. The other day he was "helping" me unload the dishwasher and he found one of her bottles and nipples. He immediately put the nipple on top of the bottle and took of to find Taycee laying on the floor. He pulled the binki out of his mouth and said "der go" and tried to feed her the bottle. The nipple wasn't screwed on so the nipple fell off and bonked her on the head. He kept picking it up and trying to get it to stay on so he could feed sister.
He is also starting to be afraid of things. We took him through the car wash last week and it scared the bageebees out of him. Every time it would come past his window he would whimper and cover his eyes with both hands. It was sad but VERY cute.

While we were in Saint George we went to Jumpin Jacks its basically a glorified playground with lots of blow up toys. Kaden LOVED it, he especially loved the big huge slides he would go flying down spread eagle, tumble a few times at the bottom and then turn around laughing and wait for me to come down. When I would come down he would open his arms to catch me ( like we do when we catch him) and then give me a huge hug when I got down.

Here are the pictures from the last 2 weeks...

Catsup... Ketchup.... CATCH UP!

Hello again blogging world, it has been a while since I last visited. The first thing to announce is that for the first time since I was 16 years old I am UNEMPLOYED! I quit work at Basic last Thursday. I have a lot of mixed emotions about the whole situation. I made a lot of good friends there that I will miss a lot. I am, however, excited to be able to devote all my energies to 2 of my favorite people in the whole world, my kids, and boy are they growing up. Taycee is a little ball of smiles and giggles these days. She LOVES to talk to herself or anyone else who will listen, I am afraid of the cell phone bill when she is a teenager. She is getting so close to rolling over and I don't like it. I just want her to stay my little baby forever. I am weening her off nursing, mostly because I am not making much milk anymore but also because she hates it. I don't know why but I feel like putting her on formula is some sort of betrayal.
Kaden is just my little man. He is quickly learning all sorts of new words and can pretty much copy anything you say. We have started him on his little potty and he HATES it. He cries and cries, but he has went a few times. We have one of those potties that sings when the duty is done. The first time he went and it started singing he cried even louder. He is really starting to look like a kid and not a baby. He is full of energy and keeps me on my toes. He is starting to really be nice to Taycee and will come up and kiss her every now and then. We gave him a much needed haircut yesterday and now he looks like he is ready to join the army! He won't sit still for more than 2 seconds so a buzz is really the only way to go with him.
