Itsy Bitsy

This is a pretty poor quality video. The coloring is dark and way off but it gives you the general idea. Kaden has learned the actions to the itsy bitsy spider. He doesnt do all of them in this video but he does the most part. Actually my favorite is the spider he does( He twists his fingers together), which he doesn't do in this video.... but maybe another time.

Chris and Kaden

I love those moments when something just reminds you of how very blessed you are. This picture is one of those moments for me....

I am so blessed to have a husband who is such a good father and to have Kaden. He reminds us everyday how to laugh at things.
In other news..... CHRIS FINISHED HIS TEST!! We don't get the results back for 3 months but Chris said he feels very good about it. Thanks to everyone who said a special prayer on his behalf.

I have a little doggy...

And he is the cutest thing ever! This weekend I got to dress Kaden up in his Doggy costume and take him to a Halloween Party at the Park. Later that Day we also went to our Ward Halloween party. He made such a cute puppy dog!
He has gotten to the stage now where he doesn't want to ride in the stroller he wants to push it!

Just a little bit short for this one... but the dogs face made it in nicely.

I was able to meet up with my good friend Jamie. This is her darling little girl with Kaden in front of the HUGE pumpkins!

Here is a close up.

This is the video of Kaden at grandmas before we left

Chris's Test

Well we all have "Big Days" and Chris has one coming up real soon. This Saturday he is taking an 8 hour test that determines if he can graduate this year. I don't know much about Chemical Engineering but I can guess it is not going to be easy. For all of you who read this, please keep a special prayer in your heart for him on Saturday. He is a genious and I know he will do so well but a few extra prayers can't hurt to help his mind be clear and his heart be calm.
Thanks all!!

Baby Shower

The girls at work threw me a little baby shower this week. It was a lot of fun. I must say that there was an overwhelming amount of pink. It is crazy how cute little girl clothes are. It made me very excited to dress her in them! Thanks to all who helped out, you were all very generous and it was a lot of fun.
This is Jocelyn, one of my good friends at work who is due a month before me.
Dishing up the yummy potluck food~

Ahhhh.... cute pink presents!

So Close...

TO BEING DONE!!

Well I "put my shoulder to the wheel " and spent every spare minute in the last few days into finishing Taycees room and it is ALMOST done. Here are some pictures as proof!
This was the first wall to be done. Here we are starting to paint the squares.....

and here is the finished wall.... The letters say "Has anyone seen my glass slipper?"

This is the wall with the letters I painted. Which, by the way, were not easy to center and hang. Big thanks to my cute hubby who was so patient through this whole process holding and moving and drilling and "re-doing" until I was happy. He was such a trooper and I couldn't have done it without his help!

Here is a wider view of that wall/corner.

This is a wide view of the other corner of the room.

I went everywhere and tried to find block letters I liked to put on this shelf. After my search yesterday still proved to be unfruitful I decided I would just make my own! I am still toying with the idea of getting smaller blocks and putting the letters "l-i-t-t-l-e" on them to put on top of the angel blocks... any opinions on that? Also... that is a picture frame next to the letters... it will remain empty till Taycee is born.

Here is the wall of the room that still needs a little work. We are replacing the tan futon cover with a dark chocolate brown. That should be here Tuesday. I am making a pink and brown pokadot table cover for the end table in the corner. I don't know when I will get to that, my creative juices are starting to dwindle. And of course we are missing one of the curtain valances. It has been ordered and also will be here Tuesday.

This is the final light switch wall.

So what do ya think?.... not to shabby.

I have to make a special note to our Dear Aunt Kathy. This last general conference Jeffery R Holland talked about the angels we have on earth among us. Kathy is one of our angels. She came shopping with me on Thursday as I went to get most of the things we needed to finish Taycees room. And she bought ALL of it. Not to mention she is making a quilt for Taycee as well. This is not the first nor I am sure the last time she will do something so generous for us. We are so grateful for her generosity towards us. WE LOVE YOU AUNT KATHY!

Full House

Well to say we have had a full house this weekend is an understatement. Chris's family came up and stayed with us the last two nights. There were 9 of us in our little abode. :) Saturday we played games and hung out. Today Chris and I had to speak in church ( which is one of the reasons they came up for the weekend). I would say it went fairly well, the best part is that it is over. :) We grilled some hamburgers tonight and played some more games. It was a fun weekend. Thanks to the Clayton Clan for coming to visit. As far as Kaden updates go... he has been sick this week with a stinkin cold. He had a pretty high fever Thursday night but seems to be on the mend. Now if I can just keep up with the green gunk that keeps coming out of his nose..... Ah the joys of motherhood

Kaden sure does love his grandma.

This is a picture of Kaden trying to take a bite of the HUGE Onion Rings at Iceberg.

Uh guys this isn't really working! ( Notice that Chris isn't having any trouble biting his food!)

Kaden and grandpa are the best of buddies.

Here is a picture of some of the clan playing games.

Happy Birthday Dad!

It is my Dad's Birthday today! I just wanted to do a quick post telling him how much I love him! He is such a great father and example and I am so glad he is my dad. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I was reading in my journal and in the very back I have an entry dated March of 2001 This is what it says:

Some things my dad taught me...

1. No one can wash your car as well as you can

2. Ice cream is ok for breakfast or dinner

3. You should always save your money

4. Birddogs never fly

5. I apparently have a breaking problem

haha I honestly can't tell you where those all came from or exactly what they mean but at the age of 16 those were the things dad had taught me. :)

NURSERY!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!! Kaden went to nursery today for the first time and LOVED it! It is about a month early to take him to nursery so I planned on just going in and sitting with him. I figured its better to sit and keep him contained in a room than run all over the church chasing him. The ladies in nursery were so nice and more than willing to take him even though I told them he was only 17 mo. The results.... 2 solid hours of no chasing fussing, or throwing of cereal! Both Chris and I actually got to sit and enjoy Sunday School & Relief Society/Priesthood. And Kaden came home a happy and worn out boy. What a deal! I think this will change our church experience entirely. Of course 2 more months and it will be a new born and nursing that will disrupt our meetings. Oh well we will enjoys the few short weeks we have left.

Also for church today Kaden got to wear his new Sunday outfit. One thing about him getting so big and active... he won't stand still and let me take cute picture. He is always pulling some retarded face or getting mad at me for making him sit still... So these aren't the cutest pics but he looked absolutely adorable.

He was literally pulling the the door knob and saying "bubye" he was anxious to get to church!

Its a bird its a plane its...

A FLYING BABY!!
Chris and Kaden have discovered a new fun game. Kaden lays on our very deflated air mattress and Chris launches him into the air. Dangerous??? yes probably... but boys will be boys!
Good thing his landings are soft. Notice that the walls in Taycee's room are still white with no furniture to speak of other than a blow up mattress for visitors. I am working on it!!
You can't tell very well because it looks like Kaden is still sitting on the bed. But really he is about a foot off the mattress in this picture.

Kaden is always doing things that make us laugh. When he wants to eat something but can't get it open he will come up to you grab your hand and put the jar or container in your hand to open. Today we were at a family birthday party for the October birthdays and he had a small green football that all the little kids were playing with. Every time he would get his hands on it he would hold it as high as he could over his head and run around with all the other little girls chasing him. hahaha it was so funny. Already learning the game of football.
Right after he and Chris were done playing the flying mattress game we both ( Chris and I )left the room and went into the kitchen. About 10 seconds later Kaden peeked around the corner and said "come here" in his little words and motioned for Chris to follow him. When Chris followed him back Kaden ran for the mattress ready to play again. What a cute boy! We sure do love him.

Here is my 30 week belly shot. I have really "blossomed" over the past 10 weeks. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and all is still looking good. After the blood work they sent me a letter telling me I am anemic and I need to take in more iron. Other than that all is well.

10 more weeks!!

Here is a close up for those really want to see the protruding bump.

So let it begin....

I have officially started putting Taycee's room together. I have been putting it off forever and then I realized that if Taycee comes as early as Kaden did I have only 8 weeks to order and put every thing together! AHH. So I ordered her bedroom set and tonight I bought and painted the letters for her room. For having no vision when I started I think they turned out pretty good. I am going to hold off on hanging them until I actually have furniture in the room. They say the first step is the hardest so hopefully I will find the energy to finish the rest. However, Kaden doesn't make things any easier. Tonight while I was painting these letters he managed to not only get his fingers in the paint and make a mess but also dump an entire plate of chicken veggie dumpling casserole on the carpet. :)
Next step: go to babys r us and buy the rest of her bedroom decor. (If Chris will let me ;)

Family Night at the Pumpkin Patch

Tonight for family home evening we took Kaden to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out a few pumpkins to carve. He thought it was quite exciting. We ended up with a 25 lbs pumpkin. Now time for the carving!

Lately we have noticed more and more Kaden's love for music. We have always known he loved music. When he was in my stomach and I would start playing the piano he would immediately stop kicking and clam down. Lately though he has become even more entertained by music and dancing. One of his favorite shows to watch is dancing with the stars. And whenever he hears an upbeat tune he starts dancing around the room. It is so cute. I will try to upload a video soon.

Weekly Update

Kaden continues to grow like a weed. I still cant believe he is walking and starting to talk. He is so much fun and we love him so much. He is starting to really learn animal sounds. He now knows a dog, a kitty, a cow, a monkey, and sometimes he will growl like a bear.

He had his first bath with bubbles today. HE LOVED IT. Of course that is no suprise considering second only to being outside taking a bath is his favorite thing to do.

All the kids were home together this weekend. So we took some random pictures.

These are from the Peach Days parade last month but I just got them off my moms camera.

This week my goal is to get brave enough to order Taycee's bedroom set. We'll see how that goes. :)

Moments...

Everyone has those moments where they search for a reason to explain away their pure lack of intelligence. Yesterday morning I had one of those moment. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I take Kaden to daycare. Kaden's daycare is fairly close to our home. Yesterday morning I got up early so I could get Kaden ready and take him to day care and still be to work at a decent time. The morning was going well and I was out the door at about 7:30. I put Kaden in his car seat jumped in the car and headed on my merry way.... It was about 20 minutes later when I was getting off of I-215 and merging onto I-80 ( about 5 minutes away from my work) that I realized Kaden was still sitting in the back of the car!!! AHHH! Who does that? Who forgets their child is in the car and drives all the way to work? Today I will blame it on being pregnant, and having a lot of things on my mind lately. Anyway, needless to say I got to work and turned right around drove all the way back to Kadens day care (about 25 minutes) and then drove back to work. What a waste of expensive gas and time. So much for getting to work early! Oh well, at least I didn't do something really stupid and leave him in the car or something.
