Three Months

3 months! Holy Crumb! I can not believe that it has been 3 months since this little bundle joined the party. I get anxiety just thinking about how fast time is going and how quickly she will grow out of this adorable snuggly teeny weeny baby stage. I just want to keep her little forever!
She is slowly becoming more alert. And when she is awake and alert she is full of smiles. She is starting to talk a lot more and Chris is determined to get her to laugh some day soon. She has a "squinty" eye and her right eye is usually half closed. Every once in awhile we get eyes wide open though.
She is steadily getting bigger and now fits perfectly into most newborn clothes. She is still eating 3 to 4 oz every 4 hours and has been my best nurser yet. ( I only know how much she eats because every morning I have to pump and give her a bottle because I am just too full)
She sleeps anywhere from 7-9 hours at night (most nights) and we are slowly finding a schedule that works for all of us. Her acid reflux is still awful and she is constantly spitting. It seems to be bothering her more than usual as of late and we might be heading to the doctor to try a different medication. We are currently on Zantac and we have tried Prevacid but neither seem to have done much good. :( It is sad and we wash lots and lots of baby clothes at our house.

These pics were actually take back when she was only 6 weeks. But I never got around to posting them so I thought I would share now.

And this months hippos pics... I think she has gotten so big this month

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that four months doesn't come nearly as quickly as three months did!

Who said science wasn't delicious?

One of the awesome perks of having a husband who is well... nerdy. (love you honey) Is you get to do cool things with his scientific knowledge. This week for Family Home Evening we made liquid nitrogen ice cream. And let me be the first to say it was DELISH!

First we combined all of our ingredients in the kitchen aid and mixed... then came the fun part
Add a little liquid nitrogen
add a little more...
Stir Stir Stir and.....
VoilĂ  Perfectly creamy home-made peach icecream in a matter of minutes.

Who needs Bill Nye with a Chris Clayton in the house?

I think we shall make more tomorrow.. rootbeer flavor perhaps...for the BYU-UTAH game.
GO UTES!!

Pre-School year 2

This handsome little guy started his second year of pre-school. I don't know who was more excited about it him or me. :D It is so great to have somewhere to take him a couple times a week where he can sit down and learn from someone besides mom. He always comes home so excited to tell me what they did that day. I think his favorite time is singing time because the first thing he always tells me is what songs they sang.

This was his little dude he was suppose to decorate like himself.
Favorite things:
Wii
Slurpee treats
color green
So we made a dude with a green shirt holding a wii remote and a big slurpee. He was quite pleased.

He also told me to give him really big muscles because he is really strong... but I lack in the artistic department.
Taycee doesn't quite know what to do with her buddy gone. When we got home the first day she ran to get her binoculars and her sippie cup full of milk and then stood by the door telling me she was ready to go to school with Kaden.

Labor Day Weekend

After Addison's blessing the Clayton family stayed with us for the weekend. Because it was Labor Day on Monday it was a good weekend to stay and have a party. We had a full house, I think we had 17 people in all and there was never a dull moment. Sunday we made cupcakes and Taycee offered to help me clean up by licking the utensils clean. :)

This was pretty much what grandma did all weekend.
Taycee loves to snuggle grandma
Grandma and Grandpa Clayton with all of the grandkids
Addison and Kara in matching outfits. I was given two of the same outfit when Addison was born and couldn't return either one so I just passed one of them on to Lisa. It made for a great picture opportunity!
Grandma can't get enough of the babies and doesn't like to share so she snuggles them both til they fall asleep.
They won't be small enough for this very much longer.
Our house seemed empty after everyone left. Thanks for the fun weekend Clayton fam.

Yard Work

Ever since we moved into this home the backyard has been a constant project. We knew when we moved in that it needed lots of work and there was a lot we wanted to do with it. Over the last 2 summers we have put in hours of man work but it is finally done.

This is the side yard and was the last to be finished. Because we were blessing Addison in our backyard we had a set deadline to have everything done. We spent almost every free moment in August working in the backyard.

Before Pics.. when we moved in it was just a field of weeds
this was after we had torn out all of the rock and garbage.

Before

After
Chris brought in enough dirt to raise up the ground by about 4 feet. One wheelbarrow at a time.
Props to Chris who built the retaining wall all by himself.

Before

This was after we tore out the AWFUL rock disaster that was cemented together at the bottom of the hill.
After

Before, ugly awful falling apart deck.

After
We finished just in time for summer to be over. :( Let's hope for lots of beautiful fall weather that we can enjoy on our new patio.

Addi's Blessing

September 3rd we blessed Addison at home. It was a beautiful Saturday evening and a beautiful blessing. It was so hard to find a Sunday that worked for everyone, and after trying for a few weeks to make Sunday work I caved and gave in to Chris's suggestions that we just do it at home. I was so against the idea at first. I am not sure why, it just seemed like it was more formal, or proper to do it in Sacrament meeting. However, I would do it again at home in a heartbeat. It was so personal and private. We were surrounded by family and friends who all meant so much to us, and it made having a little dinner/party afterwards so much easier.

**Warning** The following is major picture overload. I couldn't help but take lots of pictures. She was surrounded by so many people who loved her.

Chris begged me not to put this picture up, but I had to because it is the only picture we had of our family. So I will just post a disclaimer with it.
Disclaimer.. Addison was being fussy so we had to pull the binki out at the last moment for a picture, Chris was trying to hide it hence the strange semi femmy hand position. This also made him stand funny and stick his chest/get out. So he is neither as chubby nor as femmy as this pic may lead you to believe. :D :D :D Love you honey.

Dear Addison,
This day was such a special day for you. People came from long distances to be with you and support you on your big day. You were so beautiful and looked like a tiny angel. You slept for most of the evening and didn't make a peep during the blessing. Your daddy gave you the most beautiful blessing. Afterwards he told me that when he held you in his hand he felt a tiny portion of the love your Father in Heaven has for you and he was overcome by its magnitude. Baby girl you are so loved by those who surround you hear on earth and those who are watching from up above. I pray you can always feel and remember that. One of the things your daddy blessed you with was to always bring others joy. The same kind of joy that you bring to your father and I right now. Sometime life is hard and sad, I wish I could keep you from all of that but it is just part of this life that helps us to grow. I hope you can always be a ray of sunshine that breaks through the hard times and helps others overcome sadness. You truly are our little sunshine and we love you so much. I am excited to watch you grow and become the beautiful woman I know you are destined to be.

All my love,

mom
