Addison 4 months

It happened again, Addison got another month older. I keep trying to find a way to stop it but thus far have failed.

This months stats
Weight: 8 lbs 8 oz - less than 5th percentle
Length: 22 inches - 5th percentile
Head: 15 inches - less than 5th percentile

She is growing, slowly, but she is growing

Addison is the perfect baby, well minus the acid reflux thing.
She is content 90% of the day and only fusses when she is ready to sleep or ready to eat.
She goes 4 hours in between feedings and is a great eater.
She is starting to be so interactive and is on the verge of laughing.
She loves her daddy the most. :( But she loves her mommy too.
She is very ticklish and tenses up smiles and grunts if you tickle her ribs, under her chin or above her knees
She is rolls over on my bed. But I don't count that because the bed kind of forces her to roll to her side because it is so soft.
She sleeps like a champ usually averaging between 8 and 10 hours a night
She is very very loved.

She still spits quite a bit. The doctor told us to start giving her cereal once a day to try and put something more solid on those acids in her stomach. (a post of it's own to come on that) other than that she is a healthy normal 4 month old baby.

Here are a few of the cute pictures we have captured of her.

Oh how I love this tiny baby. I hate to see her getting bigger, which is funny considering she is still the size of a newborn. Compared to my 5 lb baby however, she is really big.

She loves her bouncer. You may notice that the majority of her smiling pictures are taken in the bouncer. There is good reason for that.
Her shy smile

I look at this picture and melt. Such a beautiful babe.

Here is a little snipet of Addison talking to Chris. She LOVES her daddy and goo's and coo's at him constantly when he is around. It is cute and I try not to be jealous. :D

Where's Waldo?

So for Halloween I really wanted Chris to be Waldo. I mean come on... he looks just like Waldo. My mom has made the comment on several occasions that if he would wear a red stripped shirt they would be identical. So I decided this was the year, and I would be Wedna. I went to the Halloween Store to see how much the two costumes would cost and about fell over when I was that they were 40 dollars each. WHAT?! For a stripped shirt made out of the most flimsy material ever, a hat, and pair of glasses? Seriously. It didn't even come with the pants or skirt. Who in their right mind pays that kind of money for a Halloween costume? Well I definitely do not. So I decided we would just make them.

We bought 2 white shirts from D.I. and taped off some stripes with masking tape.
Then we spray painted the shirts red

and then hung them to dry (and air out for a few days so we didn't die of intoxication from spray paint fumes)
The results?...

2 white shirts- $4.00 at D.I.
2 cans red spray paint- $3.00 Wal-mart
Yarn pom poms- 30 cents worth of yarn from my craft room
2 white beanies- $2.00 at Wal-mart
2 Ear warmers spray painted red- $2.00 at Wal-mart
2 pair of glasses- well...mine were 1.00 reading glasses and we busted the lenses out. Chris's were actually the most expensive because they were the only thing I bought at the Halloween store. They were $5.00 so $6.00 total
Jean skirt- $3.00 at D.I.
White tights- Free I already had them
Red Duct Tape (for the stripes on the tights)- $3.00 at Wal-Mart

Total???

Waldo and Wenda for $23.00 dollars.
Way less than 80 and that included the skirt!

Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins a little early this year so they would be ready for our Halloween party.
The kids had a blast and Addison didn't mind chillin in her Bopee for a bit observing.
Although they weren't too sure about all the slimy gunk they had to touch.

Chris did his a few days earlier than we did with the young men. In true fashion he did a basketball theme. Bet you can't guess which one is him.

Black Island Farms

A few weekends ago we headed out to Black Island Farms with the family. Kaden has been there twice now for school fieldtrips and always has a really good time. We had originally planned to go with Chris's family because they were going to come up that weekend but then Kelly got sick and they had to stay home. :( We had already bought the vouchers online so we invited my family to come up and join. Mom and Hunter met us there and we spent the day enjoying the farm.

This was actual corn but it was dried and they had it in a "sand box"
Grandma Webre and Addison spent some time chillin in the shade while we took the kids on the slides.
The corn maze
The kids spent a lot of time consulting the map
They also found a few furry friends to inspect on the way

We went on a hayride through the farm out to the pumpkin patch and everyone got to pick a pumpkin

Kaden

Oh how I love this boy.
And he is that....a BOY. Not my baby, not my little guy, a boy. And I wonder daily where the time went and how he got so big. I asked him the other day how he got so big and he said "well mom, when I was a baby I went to bed and had a dream I grew big then I woke up and it came true!" I couldn't have said it better myself. I feel like I put him in his crib one night and then woke up the next morning and he was this huge kid who wears size 6 clothing can write his name and can read the words he, and, the, it, to, I, and we.

He is smart. Like way way smarter than I was at the age of 4. The other day we were eating lunch and he said "mom when this sandwich is done in my tummy it will come out my bum. And this water will come out in pee" (ha, sorry kind of gross) I asked him who taught him that and he said "no one mom, I just knew it myself" He knows all of his letters, he sounds out words all the time. He knows lots of numbers and can count past 20. He loves to rhyme and is always asking me to play a rhyming game with him. He loves pre-school, and enthusiastically recounts every minute of it as I drive him home. He especially loves to sing. They learned a new Halloween song last week and when I picked him up he immediately started singing it to me, all the way home he sang it over and over. His primary program was last Sunday and his part was "this year, our theme in primary is I know the scriptures are true" He stood up to the mic and said it all by himself. The rest of the program he spent pulling faces at the audience. :D

He is such a good brother. He loves his little sisters and takes such good care of them. He is a natural with Addison. He asked to hold her the other day and she was fussing a little bit, he started slowly rocking her back and forth and tried to clam her down. When Chris went to take her back he said "daddy, you have to rock her and hold her head" He is an excellent binki finder. It makes car rides so easy. He always makes sure that she has her binki when she needs it.

If I had to describe Kaden in one word it would have to be JOY. He is such a happy person. He truly loves everything about life and is genuinely JOYOUS about it all. Today he said out of no where "mom I just LOVE our home" He is a constant reminder to me that life is all about finding joy in the moment, in the little things of life that we often take for granted.

He is a funny feller too. He makes me laugh every day. One night I was putting him in the car and for some reason I called myself cool. He said to me "no mom, girls are pretty and boys are cool." He has reminded me of that several times since. Another morning while I was doing Insanity he came and told me he wanted to exercise with me. He got down on the floor and then said... WOAH this is INSANITY! Then he was being my personal trainer. Every thing the instructor would say on the TV Kaden would copy. When the guy said it was time for a water break Kaden brought me a cup of water and insisted I drink. I said 'thanks" and took the water. He started dancing around the room cheering for himself saying "good helper, good helper.. uh uh.... good helper"

I really can't get enough of him.

Kaden,
You are my sunshine. You make life so fun and happy. I love to watch you grow and learn new things. You are such a smart boy and learn new things so quickly. I wish you would slow down a little and not grow up so fast. Thank you for being such a good brother to your sisters. Thank you for taking care of your mommy. I will always be your biggest fan.

Love,

mom

It's always fun

When grandpa comes.

Grandpa Clayton is layed up in bed for the next few days. So he has time to read the blog now :D because of this new development. I thought we should do a little post all about him.

I asked Taycee to tell me some things about grandpa. She said. He is just my "crapa" ( her word for grandpa)

I asked Kaden to tell me some things about grandpa. He had a lot more to say.

  • He kills alligators for me
  • He lives with my Grandma Clifforder Clayton on the mountain
  • He is strong... but I am stronger
  • He says "Monkey boy, I love you"
  • Sometimes he works at grandmas work
  • He wears a shirt and shoes to church
  • He looks just like a grandpa
  • He is cool, because boys are cool and girls are pretty
  • He tells me to go to bed and watch a show with him
  • He says "AH" when I say "Boo"
  • His car has a TV
So there you have it folks. A little about our "crapa" We sure do love him.

Through a 4 year old's eyes

I am kind of a camera happy mom. OK I am REALLY a camera happy mom. I take pictures of everything. My kids have the "look at mom and smile" drill down to a tee. Taycee will pick up a camera tell people to "get together" and then say "If you smile I will give you a treat!" Yes it is that bad. I may need to attend a snap happy anonymous some day.

I think I have passed my love for cameras (being behind them) to my children. They love to take pictures. About 3 times during the day I tell them to watch Dora or play with their toys while I go feed the baby upstairs. One particular day I guess they decided that our camera fit into the one of their toys category.

I call the following series of photos "Morning time through Kaden's eyes"

I can just envision how this all got started. Taycee had the camera and said "Kaden say cheese" Kaden posed. Taycee missed his head....
Kaden said "My turn to take a picture of you" Kaden's skills are a little more honed and he actually captures the face of his subject.

Then it turned into a clicking frenzie.

Well hello you handsome boy you.
There were about 15 pictures of these binoculars from different angles. Guess they were pretty fascinating.

A nice close up of the dirt under those toe nails. Gross.
A shot inside the game drawer.

They must sing opera's while I am upstairs
And have sweet dance parties

When he got bored he handed the camera back to Taycee and she snapped one final shot
This must have been from a different day.
When I found the camera there were 142 pictures on it. HAHAHA So even though I posted a lot I did narrow it down considerably! Good thing it was just our little point and shoot, if it had been my Nikon I wouldn't have laughed one bit. I do prefer this method of entertainment to the one pictured at the end of the earlier post. They keep me on my toes :D
