On another note... Kaden has this thing that he does with his feet. He has done it since he was born. Here he is 3 days old with his feet crossed at the ankle.
This was about 1 month old....

GiRLs!
We are getting so excited for a little girl. We have already bought a few outfits and a pair of little shoes. This, however, was the biggest purchase we have made for our princess to date.....
Her BEDDING!

I saw this bedding on a friends blog and knew that it was exactly what I wanted. I am so excited to start gathering everything we need for another little baby!

Dr. Appt
Today was my 18 week appt. and everything is looking great! I measure 18 weeks exactly so the official due date is still Dec. 24th. I am still losing weight which the doctor is a little concerned about. If any of you have good tips on how to stay healthy and still gain some weight... I'm all ears!

14 months old
Sometimes I wish I was 14 months old. Life seems so simple and care-free. I think Kaden's biggest concern is if he will get applesauce or grilled cheese for dinner. Right now I am laying in bed all but paralyzed. I just got back from a rigorous round of therapy for my back and neck and am pretty much in a ton of pain. I am also starving. Today would be a good day to be 14 months old. Sorry, not so upbeat today.... but here are some darling pictures that are bound to make you smile. :) He has this new cheesy smile where he scrunches his face. Grandma Clayton... these pictures are for you!

Belly Pic #3
Car Trouble

Ever been in those situations where you just have to laugh for fear that you might cry? Well Monday was one of those times for us. I am sure most of you don't keep up but we tend to have a lot of bad luck.... ESPECIALLY when it comes to automobiles. As most of you probably know about 3 weeks ago I was rear ended on the freeway. Not only am I still in therapy to try and repair the damage done to my back but it also took until TODAY to get our car back from the shop. That means that for the last 3 weeks we have been carpooling together which, may I add, is neither convenient nor practical. We work on opposite sides of the valley and with gas costing 4.xx a gallon it has not been cheap. You also might remember that about 5 months ago our car engine ( 2000 TOYOTA) blew up while we were driving on the freeway... I know what you are thinking, WHAT?!? a 2000 Toyota engine, that shouldn't happen. Yes we know. But it did and it was a very costly repair. On top of that the insurance company told us that because we didn't hurt ourselves, run into anyone or hit anything they would not cover the cost. So for future knowledge if something happens while driving please make sure to bash the car next to you... dumb.
ANYWAY... back to last Monday. We were making the final stretch of our drive home from San Diego (a 12 hour drive) we had just left St George and had gone about 5 miles when the can in front of us swerves to the left. All of the sudden a large item comes into view directly ahead of me. Chris hasn't seen it yet because he is in the drivers seat and is still wondering why the large white van in front of us has just made a drastic jerk towards the barrier. I scream right as this large item comes into Chris's view. Now when I say large I do not mean a big cat in the road. I am taking all the way up past the hood of the car and about 2 feet wide. I only got about a 2 second glance at it before it clobbered the side of our car, but in retrospect we have decided it was probably a fender or the grill off of a semi stand straight up. Anyway back to the story.... I scream as this large object hits the front left side of our car and then tears along the side and in the process hits my door handle and opens my door. I freak out, grab the door and try to pull it shut, it won't shut. The car is starting to vibrate now as our tire is hissing air from the gash it just received. Chris starts changing lanes to get to the right but can't pull over for another 500 yards because there is no emergency lane on the right side of the road just a huge ravine. Kaden can feel the tension in the air and starts to cry. We finally get to a spot where we can pull over and see another car pulled over changing 2 flat tires. ( Yes he hit the same thing but he barely hit it with his tires) Here is the best part... NOBODY behind us pulls over to help. It would have been nice if one of the 20 cars behind us who saw it happen pulled over. At least to tell us what we hit. There was an accident on the other side of the freeway and we are guessing it was debris from that. Anyway to make a long story short, Chris had to unpack the entire car to get to the spare underneath the floor. We called the highway patrol who reported that they could not find anything in the road that we could have hit so they can't prove it was from the accident and we will have to claim it on our insurance. ( ARE YOU KIDDING??? how does a 5X2 foot monstrosity just disappear off the road?) And we head back to St George to get the tire replaced. After waiting for the tire we head to Kelly's office to get the baby who grandma had rescued til we had a running car again. When we get everything packed back in the car and we are ready to go Chris turns on the car and...... nothing...... dead battery. This is where the laugh so you don't cry part comes in. WHO HAS THIS KIND OF LUCK? 2 accidents in a month and 3 accidents within 5. The good news is that we did get the Toyota back today so we can send in the Mazda and still have one car to drive to both ends of the valley in every morning.
San Diego
Our week in San Diego went by incredibly fast. I wish my work weeks could go by so fast! The only down side was that from the first day at least one of us had some sort of illness. Kaden started us all off with a double ear infection and some throat problem. I followed with a stomach bug...(besides the pregnant thing) and then followed that with some nasty throat/head/neck sickness. Chris ended the week by catching the same throat/head/neck thing. But even with all of that taken into account, it was still a great week and a fabulous vacation. Thanks so much to Claudia and Kelly for taking us! I do have more beach pictures but my film is still being developed so for now these cell phone pics will do.
Kaden wasn't so sure about the sand at first, but a few days into it he was crawling and digging all over the place.
He was such a perfect baby the entire trip. What a sweetheart!
This was at the USS Midway, the retired aircraft carrier. It was pretty cool to walk through and see how huge it is. This is in one of the areas where the crew slept. It made me grateful for my big comfy bed.We all got jailed
Kaden was particularly interested at looking through these bars.
Happy 4th
Wow we have had quite the crazy week. It all went by so fast and we had so much fun. We left Thursday the 3rd to start our 10 day vacation to San Diego. We stopped in Vegas for the 4th and spent the day with Chris's unlce's family. Here are some pics from the parade and the fire works later that night.
This was at the beginning of the day... before the heat reached the 100's. All of Chris's family wears the same shirt on the forth so you will be seeing a lot of red in the following pictures.
Kaden loved watching the parade he would say "ooo" and point at things. His favorite float had to have been......
ELMO!!
Oh yeah looking like such a stud in his shades.

Grandma Clayton and Aunt Lisa

Kaden got to participate in his own miniature parade. Lisa pulled him around in this little wagon and he clapped for himself the whole time.
